Protective winter gloves are the toughest nut to crack for motorcycle equipment manufacturers. They need to fit right, protect you from the wet and the cold and keep your hands safe when things go wrong. With almost a century of experience under their belt, Racer France consistently ticks those boxes. When they asked us to lend them a hand co-designing their next winter glove we couldn’t put pen to paper quick enough. We’re proud to say this is the result, exclusive in the UK to Urban Rider. The Northern GTX blends classic styling with top-notch modern components, suiting the needs of the all-season urban rider.

Racer is very good at giving their gloves a vintage look disguising modern specs, an approach we wanted to emphasise while designing the Northern GTX. This glove is constructed using supple Goatskin leather for the outer layer with its sleek silhouette broken up only by the ribbed stitch knuckle region. This retro focal point of the design conceals an ergonomic Ergoflex knuckle armour insert, in place to offer the rider excellent impact protection. Goatskin is supple yet strong, making it the leather of choice for a motorcycle glove, which needs to offer dexterity while protecting you from any contact with the tarmac.

When it comes to protecting your hands from the elements, the Northern GTX's stylish outer hides two extremely effective materials: A Gore-Tex membrane guarantees watertight performance without compromising on breathability while on the inside of the glove a fleece lining combines with Primaloft insulation to trap as much heat as possible. Important to note is that it offers all of this comfort without making the gloves too bulky, so your dexterity isn't impeded when controlling your bike.
